Inspect Storage Spaces health at pool, virtual-disk and physical-disk levels
A virtual disk warning can originate from a physical disk or pool condition. Gather the storage layers before replacing hardware.
Environment and inputs: Windows Server 2022 / 2025 baseline · Windows PowerShell with the specified role or RSAT modules; native utilities are identified in the text. Use delegated administration and elevation only where required.
Start with this check
Confirm the host, shell and access role. Replace sample names, paths, domains and interfaces with approved targets. These are diagnostic commands; assess policy and workload impact before making changes.

The three views report related but different layers. Healthy presentation at one layer does not eliminate every path or performance issue.
Resolve and verify
Map the degraded component to the approved enclosure inventory and repair plan. Verify redundancy and repair-job progress before any removal.
Before changing production
Do not remove or reset disks by display name alone, particularly on shared or clustered storage.
