Linux Server / Networking, SSH & Web Services
Inspect dynamically assigned server addresses through NetworkManager
A server may obtain a different address or DNS path after reconnecting. Read the device's active IP and DHCP information.
Environment and inputs: Linux server baseline · Ubuntu 24.04 LTS / RHEL 9-style systems. Use the specified distribution, init system and installed tool; service names, privileges and supported options can differ.
Start with this check
Confirm the host, shell and access role. Replace sample names, paths, domains and interfaces with approved targets. These are diagnostic commands; assess policy and workload impact before making changes.
nmcli device show ens3
Read the result
On a NetworkManager host, replace the interface name to inspect current settings. The output can include private network data and is not a persistent configuration dump.
Resolve and verify
Compare the actual lease and routes with the approved reservation or static-address design. Correct the managing profile or DHCP dependency and validate service registration.
Before changing production
Do not release a lease over the only management connection or copy confidential network details into public reports.
