ORA-00600: preserve internal-error diagnostics for support
An internal error needs its full arguments, incident identifiers and reproducible context. The error family alone does not identify a safe fix.
Environment and inputs: Oracle Database 19c baseline · SQL*Plus-compatible SQL unless RMAN, DGMGRL, ADRCI or a host shell is specified. Check release, patch level, edition and container first.
Start with this diagnostic
Use the stated SQL, RMAN, DGMGRL or host shell and replace sample names with approved targets. DBA and V$ views need authorized catalog access in the correct container. Do not grant broad privileges for an example.
SELECT name, value FROM v$diag_info WHERE name IN ('ADR Home','Diag Trace','Diag Incident');
Read the result
These paths identify this instance's diagnostics. The relevant incident and trace must be matched by time and process rather than inferred from the newest file alone.
Resolve and verify
Capture the complete error and recent changes, preserve diagnostic evidence and engage Oracle Support through the organization's support process. Validate any prescribed fix in the appropriate environment.
Operational precautions
Do not change hidden parameters or apply an internet workaround based only on the ORA-00600 number.
