Find a wrong default gateway on Windows
Local file sharing may work while every off-subnet service fails. Inspect the route table to determine which default path the workstation can use.

The Windows IPv4 table includes destination, mask, gateway, interface and metric. A default route has destination 0.0.0.0 with mask 0.0.0.0, but more-specific routes take precedence.
What to do next
Compare the default path with the active network and VPN design. Ask the network owner to correct DHCP or managed routing when the gateway is wrong.
Before you make a change
Do not delete all routes as a diagnostic shortcut. Multiple defaults and VPN routes can be intentional and must be evaluated with interface metrics and destination specificity.
