PLC / Digital I/O, Sensors & Actuators
Check input-filter differences after replacing an I/O module
A replacement module or restored default can alter filtering and make previously reliable pulses disappear or noise become visible.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Compare old and new approved module parameters, firmware and recorded pulse characteristics against the exact product manuals.
Interpret the evidence
A matching module family does not guarantee identical channel filter configuration. Filter delay changes the effective detection behavior.
Resolve and verify
Restore the validated supported settings or qualify a revised acquisition design through the controls owner's test plan and verify counts at the intended rate.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not disable filtering or alter safety-related response timing without the required engineering validation.
