Investigate several digital inputs failing as one group
A shared field supply, reference connection or module group fault can affect several channels while other inputs continue working.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Record which channels fail together, group diagnostics and existing supply-status indications, then compare the module's documented grouping.
Interpret the evidence
Channels adjacent in the program are not necessarily one electrical group. Similar symptoms can also come from a shared mapping or network problem.
Resolve and verify
Use the approved drawing to narrow the common dependency and arrange qualified isolated inspection when required. Validate each affected channel after repair.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not assume a healthy CPU supply proves every input group has the correct field reference.
