PLC / Drives, Motion & Axis Diagnostics
Compare a drive's received reference with the PLC engineering setpoint
An actuator can run at an unexpected value because the communication word and drive units use different scaling or limits.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Record the approved PLC setpoint, mapped reference word, drive-received value and active scaling parameters without changing the request.
Interpret the evidence
A percentage, raw word and physical speed are not automatically interchangeable. Sign, limits and mode can change interpretation.
Resolve and verify
Correct the demonstrated mapping or supported parameter discrepancy through versioned configuration and validate known points in the authorized test environment.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not try arbitrary reference words or increase limits on live machinery to discover the scale.
