PLC / Drives, Motion & Axis Diagnostics
Find the cause of a recurring drive fault before resetting it
A drive can trip repeatedly because its underlying electrical, mechanical or command condition remains present.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Capture the full active and historical fault details, operating state and approved process context before any reset.
Interpret the evidence
A reset removes a latched indication only under the drive's rules; it does not prove the fault cause is corrected or authorize restart.
Resolve and verify
Assign the demonstrated fault to the appropriate qualified owner, repair the cause and follow the documented reset and readiness validation sequence.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not configure automatic repeated resets or clear protective faults merely to keep production moving.
