PLC / Drives, Motion & Axis Diagnostics
Check axis units and mechanical ratio before correcting travel errors
A position command can be internally consistent yet physically wrong when feed constants, gearing or units are misconfigured.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Compare the approved mechanical transmission data, drive encoder conversion and PLC axis engineering units using existing records.
Interpret the evidence
Motor revolutions, load travel and displayed units are separate conversion stages. An accidental double ratio can affect both position and speed.
Resolve and verify
Reconcile the documented model and qualify a targeted parameter correction on an isolated or controlled test setup with acceptance criteria.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not command a large trial move or change scaling on an enabled production axis.
