Choose diagnostic sampling that can actually validate the required PLC response
A slow watch table can miss short events and make an incorrect sequence appear healthy. Excessive tracing can also perturb timing.

Observe and record
Record the event durations, task context, approved capture tool, sample interval and known observation limitations before the test.
Interpret the evidence
Displayed refresh rate, data-acquisition interval and actual signal timing are distinct. A missed trace transition is not conclusive without sufficient sampling.
Resolve and verify
Use a supported bounded capture plan and acceptance criteria through the controls owner, then confirm required timing with suitable evidence.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not increase machine speed or run unbounded high-rate traces just to expose a suspected timing fault.
