Find the actual Oracle Scheduler job error
A job's next-run time does not explain its most recent failure. Inspect bounded run history and preserve the error details.
Environment and inputs: Oracle Database 19c baseline · SQL*Plus-compatible SQL unless RMAN, DGMGRL, ADRCI or a host shell is specified. Check release, patch level, edition and container first.
Start with this diagnostic
Use the stated SQL, RMAN, DGMGRL or host shell and replace sample names with approved targets. DBA and V$ views need authorized catalog access in the correct container. Do not grant broad privileges for an example.
SELECT log_date, owner, job_name, status, error#, additional_info FROM dba_scheduler_job_run_details WHERE owner = 'APP_OWNER' AND log_date > SYSTIMESTAMP - INTERVAL '1' DAY ORDER BY log_date DESC FETCH FIRST 30 ROWS ONLY;
Read the result
History rows describe recorded runs and errors, subject to logging and retention. A failed run can have partially completed external or committed work.
Resolve and verify
Inspect the job action, execution identity and first error, then correct the dependency. Rerun only after checking idempotency and partial-work cleanup.
Operational precautions
Do not assume retrying the entire job is harmless or paste secret-bearing arguments into the ticket.
