Check CSI driver registration during storage provisioning failures
A claim can fail because its expected CSI driver is absent, unsupported or unhealthy. Inspect registered driver objects and provider evidence.
Environment and inputs: Kubernetes · kubectl with supported client/server versions and delegated RBAC. Examples use namespace app unless noted. Check context, namespace, APIs and provider support first.
Start with this check
Confirm the environment and replace sample objects, namespaces, images, paths and hosts with approved targets. Share only relevant, sanitized output. Follow the workload owner’s process for changes.
kubectl get csidrivers
kubectl get csinodes
Read the result
The objects describe driver registration and node-related capabilities. They do not certify controller health or backend credentials and connectivity.
Resolve and verify
Compare the selected StorageClass provisioner with the installed provider's documented components and events. Repair the verified registration or health issue through the cluster owner.
Before changing production
Do not install a second storage driver or edit registration objects blindly on a live cluster.
