Investigate laptop battery complaints with powercfg
A short battery runtime can reflect battery wear, workload or sleep behavior. A battery report gives a useful baseline before changing power settings.

Try the diagnostic command
Use the stated shell and platform. Replace sample domains, addresses, services and paths with values from the system you are authorized to support.
powercfg /batteryreportHow to read the result
The command generates an HTML report and prints its location. Compare design capacity with reported full-charge capacity and examine recent usage, keeping in mind that hardware reporting accuracy varies.
What to do next
Review the report alongside the user's workload and charging pattern. Compare runtime on the approved power profile before deciding whether battery replacement is justified.
