PLC / Digital I/O, Sensors & Actuators
Investigate input disturbances associated with inductive loads
Sensor errors that align with contactor or solenoid switching can involve electromagnetic coupling or a shared supply disturbance.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Compare event times with documented switching operations, cable routes, suppression components and existing supply or module diagnostics.
Interpret the evidence
Timing correlation narrows the hypothesis but does not distinguish every noise, supply and grounding mechanism. Suppression design depends on the load and output type.
Resolve and verify
Use qualified isolated inspection and the manufacturers' installation guidance to correct the demonstrated interference path. Validate normal operation and required release timing.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not add an arbitrary suppression component that changes actuator release behavior or bypass protective earthing.
