Separate HMI read success from authorized write access
An operator can see a tag while a write is rejected by user permissions, device policy or a read-only source.

Observe and record
Record the exact write error, current approved role, tag access configuration and source quality through the normal diagnostic path.
Interpret the evidence
Reading a value does not authorize changing it. A failed write can also be a type, state or range-validation issue rather than an account problem.
Resolve and verify
Repair only the demonstrated binding or approved permission requirement and validate through the site's controlled operator test process.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not grant administrator rights or disable range and mode checks to make a write succeed.
