PLC / HMI, SCADA, Alarms & Historian
Find duplicate scaling between a PLC tag and the HMI
A correctly scaled PLC value can be transformed again by a tag or screen expression, producing an incorrect display.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Compare the approved raw-to-engineering path, PLC value, HMI binding and any gateway or historian scaling definitions.
Interpret the evidence
An HMI expression can change only the display or a shared tag used elsewhere, depending on the platform. Matching one point is not enough.
Resolve and verify
Choose the authoritative conversion layer, correct the demonstrated duplication and validate several known values and unit labels across all consumers.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not modify a control-loop scaling block merely to compensate for a display-only defect.
