PLC / Analog Signals & Measurement Quality
Find whether an analog signal clips in the sensor, module or software
A flat value at a limit can result from transmitter range, converter saturation or software clamping. Each layer needs separate evidence.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Compare available raw input, channel diagnostic state, scaled PLC value and HMI value at the same authorized observation time.
Interpret the evidence
A stable maximum does not prove the physical process is stable. One stage may saturate while upstream or downstream values continue changing.
Resolve and verify
Identify the first stage that stops tracking, then correct its approved range or processing logic and validate representative boundary cases.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not widen a range or suppress high alarms without checking equipment limits and the process-control design.
