Docker / Images, Dockerfiles & Build Reliability
Diagnose a successful Buildx build whose image is not in local Engine
A build can finish with cache-only or remote registry output, depending on driver and export settings. Identify output intent before rebuilding.
Environment and inputs: Docker Engine · Compose v2 and Buildx where specified; Linux containers unless noted. Verify daemon context, installed feature support and authorized host or Swarm manager access first.
Start with this check
Confirm the environment and replace sample objects, namespaces, images, paths and hosts with approved targets. Share only relevant, sanitized output. Follow the workload owner’s process for changes.
docker buildx inspect
Read the result
This reads selected builder information. The actual build command and logs are needed to identify output exporters and artifact destination.
Resolve and verify
Compare supported load, push or other output configuration with the pipeline objective. Export the verified result through the approved build workflow and confirm its digest.
Before changing production
Do not assume every builder automatically loads an image into the local daemon or publish an artifact to an unintended registry.
