Docker / Images, Dockerfiles & Build Reliability
Use Docker build checks before executing a full release build
Some Dockerfile errors and risky patterns can be detected before producing an image. Check installed Buildx and frontend support first.
Environment and inputs: Docker Engine · Compose v2 and Buildx where specified; Linux containers unless noted. Verify daemon context, installed feature support and authorized host or Swarm manager access first.
Start with this check
Confirm the environment and replace sample objects, namespaces, images, paths and hosts with approved targets. Share only relevant, sanitized output. Follow the workload owner’s process for changes.
docker buildx build --check .
Read the result
On supporting versions, this requests build checks for the current context rather than a normal image build. Frontend resolution and validation can still involve network access and local input inspection.
Resolve and verify
Read the specific diagnostic and correct the intended Dockerfile or context. Follow with the normal tested release build and runtime validation.
Before changing production
Do not treat static checks as a security attestation or assume the command exists on every older builder.
