Diagnose Wi-Fi instability with a WLAN report
Intermittent wireless failures are difficult to explain after a connection has recovered. Windows can assemble a report of recent wireless sessions and adapter events.
Environment and inputs: Windows 11 · Command Prompt unless PowerShell is specified
Try the diagnostic command
Use the stated shell and platform. Replace sample domains, addresses, services and paths with values from the system you are authorized to support.
netsh wlan show interfaces
netsh wlan show wlanreport
How to read the result
The interface view shows connection state and radio information. The report command prints the location of an HTML report containing recent connection sessions and failure details.
What to do next
Open the generated report locally and compare disconnect times with access-point logs and the user's location. Look for repeated authentication failures or adapter resets before replacing hardware.
Before you make a change
Report generation may need an elevated terminal. Reports contain network names and device information; share only the relevant redacted sections.
