Windows Commands / IT Support Guides
Export support evidence as structured CSV
Support evidence is easier to compare when it uses stable fields rather than screenshots alone. Export a small, relevant object list while keeping the original data types in mind.
Environment and inputs: Windows 11 · Command Prompt unless PowerShell is specified
Try the diagnostic command
Use the stated shell and platform. Replace sample domains, addresses, services and paths with values from the system you are authorized to support.
Get-Service | Select-Object Name, DisplayName, Status | Export-Csv -LiteralPath "$env:USERPROFILE\Desktop\services.csv" -NoTypeInformation -Encoding UTF8
How to read the result
The file contains one row per service with a header. Export objects directly; piping Format-Table into Export-Csv would export formatting objects instead of the intended fields.
What to do next
Confirm the actual Desktop location exists, open the resulting CSV and verify the selected columns. Attach it through the approved ticket system with the collection time.
Before you make a change
The example writes a local file and can overwrite an existing file at that path. Review exported values before opening untrusted CSV content in a spreadsheet.
