PLC / Drives, Motion & Axis Diagnostics
Investigate an axis that will not accept a move after a stop command
A motion stop function can leave the axis in a defined stopping or locked condition until its documented lifecycle completes.
Environment and inputs: Industrial PLC / automation guidance · Verify the exact controller, module, firmware, engineering tool and machine documentation. Linked vendor examples apply to their stated products and library versions; observation, state changes and physical work require distinct authorization.
Observe and record
Record the exact stop block, request state, axis state and command error through approved monitoring.
Interpret the evidence
Stop-function semantics differ from halting functions and from safety stopping. One block's behavior must not be generalized to another library.
Resolve and verify
Correct the managed command sequence according to the matching library and validated machine design, then test stop and restart behavior safely.
Machine and data safeguards
Do not bypass the stop condition, force state bits or treat a standard stop as electrical energy isolation.
