Oracle Database / SQL Performance & Memory
Choose performance diagnostics that match Oracle entitlements
A performance investigation should identify which tools are available before generating reports. A feature being technically enabled does not establish that its use is licensed.
Environment and inputs: Oracle Database 19c baseline · SQL*Plus-compatible SQL unless RMAN, DGMGRL, ADRCI or a host shell is specified. Check release, patch level, edition and container first.
Start with this diagnostic
Use the stated SQL, RMAN, DGMGRL or host shell and replace sample names with approved targets. DBA and V$ views need authorized catalog access in the correct container. Do not grant broad privileges for an example.
SELECT name, value FROM v$parameter WHERE name = 'control_management_pack_access';
Read the result
The parameter reports the configured technical setting. It is not a contract or an entitlement check for AWR, ASH, ADDM or tuning features.
Resolve and verify
Have the environment owner confirm permitted tools and use approved current-session, cursor and OS evidence while that is clarified. Document the exact time interval for later analysis.
Operational precautions
Do not query restricted historical repositories or invoke licensed advisors merely because the account has privileges.
