ORA-39087: verify a Data Pump directory object in the right container
A Data Pump directory name can be missing, misspelled or unavailable to the job's account in this PDB.
Environment and inputs: Oracle Database 19c baseline · SQL*Plus-compatible SQL unless RMAN, DGMGRL, ADRCI or a host shell is specified. Check release, patch level, edition and container first.
Start with this diagnostic
Use the stated SQL, RMAN, DGMGRL or host shell and replace sample names with approved targets. DBA and V$ views need authorized catalog access in the correct container. Do not grant broad privileges for an example.
SELECT SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','CON_NAME') AS con_name FROM dual;
SELECT directory_name, directory_path FROM all_directories WHERE directory_name = 'DP_DIR';
Read the result
The pair checks the target context and visible directory mapping. It does not prove underlying filesystem access.
Resolve and verify
Create or grant the intended directory object only through the approved DBA process, then validate path access and job parameters.
Operational precautions
Do not substitute the operating-system path where Data Pump expects a directory object name.
