Find namespace quota preventing new replicas from being created
A Deployment can request more replicas while its ReplicaSet cannot create Pods because namespace quota is exhausted.
Environment and inputs: Kubernetes · kubectl with supported client/server versions and delegated RBAC. Examples use namespace app unless noted. Check context, namespace, APIs and provider support first.
Start with this check
Confirm the environment and replace sample objects, namespaces, images, paths and hosts with approved targets. Share only relevant, sanitized output. Follow the workload owner’s process for changes.
kubectl -n app describe resourcequota
kubectl -n app describe replicaset web-example
Read the result
Use the actual ReplicaSet name. Quota usage and controller events reveal whether creation is rejected before a Pod exists.
Resolve and verify
Compare resource and object-count demand with the approved namespace allocation. Remove only confirmed obsolete managed resources or obtain justified capacity and verify creation.
Before changing production
Do not bypass quota or delete another team's resources to make a rollout progress.
