Kubernetes / Services, DNS & Traffic Routing
Investigate a Kubernetes LoadBalancer Service with no external address
The Service type requests external provisioning but depends on an installed provider and valid infrastructure configuration.
Environment and inputs: Kubernetes · kubectl with supported client/server versions and delegated RBAC. Examples use namespace app unless noted. Check context, namespace, APIs and provider support first.
Start with this check
Confirm the environment and replace sample objects, namespaces, images, paths and hosts with approved targets. Share only relevant, sanitized output. Follow the workload owner’s process for changes.
kubectl -n app describe service web
Read the result
Events and status may expose provisioning, permission or quota failures. Bare-metal clusters may require an explicitly managed load-balancer implementation.
Resolve and verify
Compare provider/controller health, approved annotations and infrastructure capacity with the exact event. Repair the dependency and verify external routing and access policy.
Before changing production
Do not assume every cluster automatically supplies a public IP or expose the workload through an unreviewed alternative.
