Docker / Engine, Containers & Runtime Diagnosis
Find a Docker entrypoint override that breaks image startup
A deployment can replace an image's intended startup script and bypass initialization. Inspect the created container's resolved command arrays.
Environment and inputs: Docker Engine · Compose v2 and Buildx where specified; Linux containers unless noted. Verify daemon context, installed feature support and authorized host or Swarm manager access first.
Start with this check
Confirm the environment and replace sample objects, namespaces, images, paths and hosts with approved targets. Share only relevant, sanitized output. Follow the workload owner’s process for changes.
docker container inspect --format '{{json .Config.Entrypoint}} {{json .Config.Cmd}}' app
Read the result
The arrays show configured execution intent. Shell-form and exec-form behavior differ, and argument boundaries are not equivalent to one pasted shell string.
Resolve and verify
Compare container configuration with the verified image contract and deployment source. Correct the managed override and validate initialization and signal handling.
Before changing production
Do not patch the running container manually or expose credentials placed in command arguments.
